Tight or small spaces can often seem overwhelming for finding design solutions that make a practical yet inviting area to retreat to. This small townhouse backyard was completely unusable, infested with mosquitos from poor water drainage – simply a sloppy, muddy mess.
Horizon removed an old concrete patio under the existing deck. After removing the failed patio, which was pushing water back to the foundation, we replaced it with a properly draining paver patio. We buried the downspouts below the patio and had them run out to the property line. We installed a small stone garden wall on the uphill side of the property to help control an erosion issue coming from the uphill neighbor.
