So, you want a pool? Oh, the stories we can tell! This client came to us by way of Angie’s List. Working with a reputable pool company, our client thought he was well underway, saying, “I’ve signed my contract, I gave my deposit, and I am scheduled to have my pool dug, so I’m done.” Well, no, unfortunately, you are not. Why, you ask? Well, because the contract you just signed was for a pool, not a pool patio, nor any of the other cool features one might want around the pool. None of the mud cleanup has been dealt with, and your yard looks like a bomb went off and somehow produced a pool in the middle.
Horizon took over this job with no landscape architect, no landscape design, and no measurements. We had a pool with the coping already installed and a set of basement steps. Horizon was able to work through the elevation changes and make everything seamless in the final product. With a built-in BBQ, refrigerator, storage, and granite countertops, the grill island was first class. Horizon was even able to blend the utilities, including all the drainage around the pool and the pool equipment, into a seamless landscape. For this project, we installed landscape lighting only on the steps and elevation transitions because the pool itself provided a great deal of light.
