For this project, our clients decided that a pool was the missing component for their forever home. Once the pool company completed pool construction, Horizon took over.
Our build consisted of removing over 2,000 square feet of composite decking built around an above-ground pool. The results are stunning. The clients chose irregular blue stone for the main portion of the pool deck, which created a unique look with random mortar joints. We built stone retaining walls around the pool using a cinder block foundation. The block was then veneered (faced) with blue stone wall stone and custom cut, thermal radius, blue stone caps. We built the walls at sitting height so the clients could provide unlimited seating for the pool area.
A short transition up three blue stone steps leads to a shaded area under the main portion of the deck equipped with a roofing system to keep everyone cool and dry. We installed live edge steps that proceed from the upper decking area to the pool deck below. We also installed low voltage landscape lighting and a secluded wood burning fire pit area. This once average space has been transformed into a resort style, at home getaway!
