This project was closer to home for Horizon, done for and commemorating “Big Joe.”  Joe was our freelance structural engineer.  He designed all our retaining walls that were over a certain height and required an engineer’s stamp to get a local County municipality permit to build.

Joe passed away a few years ago, but his work will always be with us and will stand the test of time.  This historic home in Glen Burnie had no front entrance other than the steps leading to the front door.  Horizon created a new set of brick steps with a serpentine walk leading to the solitary front door that previously had no sidewalk leading to it. It is a privilege to be able to work with friends and family, as they are the ones who hold you in the highest regard.  RIP, Big Joe!
